Art Gallery Inspired Dental Office Comes to Life with Interior Design and Interior Styling

The Challenge:

From the first meeting the desire was to make this dental office not feel, from the initial entrance, that this was a dental office. The practice specialized in sedation dentistry as most patients were fearful of the dental work. The art gallery inspiration was suggested by a part time artist who worked with the doctor. Inspiration was born. The next challenge for this new clinic was only two windows on the front elevation. Natural light would not be able to penetrate to the rear of the space.

The Design Solution:

The location of the windows lead to the reception and waiting area being at the front of the space followed by a glass door to separate the waiting from the dental treatment area. The art gallery theme lead to a mainly white and monochromatic color scheme and finish selections. A wood grain grey walnut was a sophisticated contribution to an otherwise white palette. Wall space was used to display various artist paintings and prints and other wall décor was limited. The simplicity of the space was also enhanced with the use of textures and finishes. The texture carved MDF reception desk face is intriguing and draws the viewer in. Inviting waiting room furniture and beverage station sets a relaxing tone for the patient.

The feedback from the patients is always very positive. They feel relaxed and peaceful as they enter the office which sets a tone for a positive experience at the dentist.

The Dental Clinic

Dream Dental Clinic Brought to Life with Dental Office Design and Construction

The Challenge:

The thought of a new building being added to landscape of Olds was exciting. The design needed to be respectful of the “Sacred Tree” located on the lot from the previous high school courtyard. The tree has become a town symbol and was the main topic of interest when reviewing the building ideas. The freestanding building would incorporate five open operatories, two closed suites, central sterilization, lab and a large reception including a kid’s play area. Reflecting the foothills was the driving vision for the building’s exterior and interior.

The Design Solution:

The integration of mountains, forest and prairies is evident in all aspects of the design while meeting the functional needs of a dental clinic. The design style with its sloped roofs, angular siding and cool grey tones speaks to the mountains. Wood elements and interior artwork bring the forest to life and a natural palette of earth tones and finishes represent the prairies. The sacred tree is the backdrop for the building and creates a cozy environment for the staff courtyard. A large reception area with family friendly furniture, self-serve coffee and the doctors own landscape photographs hang on the wall in large format to create a relaxed environment. Project administration ensured all elements were executed and the owner’s interests were respected throughout the project. The finished product is a welcome addition to the town and a statement of pride for the owners.

Mayfair Eye Care Clinic Commercial Interior Design Transformation

The Challenge:

After a successful career the challenge presented itself to create a new optical clinic and enhance the typical client experience. Following the acquisition of a new location on the fourth floor of a medical building the timeline was tight to create this new clinic. The doctor had a clear vision of her ideas for the space and a well thought out patient work flow. The south and east exposures of natural light and acoustics were important concerns to be addressed.

The Design Solution:

The creation of a detailed floor plan to meet and exceed all of the patient and staff work flow challenges was the first order of business. Previous clinic experience and clear business ideas presented by the doctor were the driving factors for a successful outcome. Interior products were selected for their durability and overall enhancement of the original vision for the office. Project management was executed to move the schedule along in a timely manner and allow for budget considerations. Furniture, artwork and Custom child areas with original art, created by the doctor, and applied to the walls are fun finishing touches for a unified finished product.

Commercial Construction Design for a Rapidly Growing Commercial Services Provider

The Challenge:

This electrical services provider was in a growing stage for their company. Currently they were planning on occupying 2500 square feet of new office space with expansion plans within 12 months to double the square footage. The space needed to be flexible and easily adaptable as the needs of this organization changed. Their estimating department was the heart of the operation. Enormous amounts of drawings, products and documentation to manage. The biggest challenge was easy accessibility to numerous key individuals prior to completing a bid. The timeline was tight and there were budget considerations.

The Design Solution:

A combination of closed and open offices was the layout chosen to provide the most flexibility for their growing needs. The definition of most spaces was through mobile walls and furniture solutions. The versatility of these walls, table desks and storage components made the transformation. As the needs presented themselves, manipulation was easily achieved with their own internal man power. The estimating department was a transparent space with a need for organization and efficiencies. There were a variety of space-saving solutions and work surfaces to accommodate for the various participants in any given bid. We were able to meet both the time and budget considerations with cost effective, Canadian manufacturers and quick ship options.

The completed project balanced these aesthetic and functional components of this thriving company.
